BOSTON, MA, January 2, 2017 – Walsh Brothers, Incorporated, a leading construction management firm well known for its work on complex, high-quality and sensitive building projects, reports today that the firm has exceeded its volume expectations for 2016 and predicts a continued growth pattern in 2017. The company is celebrating a strong financial performance, industry awards and welcoming new talent and new clients.

While the bulk of the firm’s work remains in the clinical health care, medical research, academia and pharmaceutical sectors, Walsh Brothers has seen a spike in the luxury high-rise residential arena.

“Long-term, trusted relationships with many of the region’s notable institutions have been our foundation for continued growth,” said Richard C. Walsh, President & CEO of Walsh Brothers, “This December alone we are involved in some phase of the construction process with over 20 institutions involving more than 50 projects. We are engaged today with clients that we have served for multiple decades including Partners HealthCare, Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, MIT, Harvard University, UMass, Novartis and Procter & Gamble/Gillette to name a few.”

As market opportunities have shifted, Walsh Brothers has also joined forces with Commodore Builders to construct a 12-story luxury high-rise residential project for New Boston Ventures on Boston’s Rose Kennedy Boulevard. In addition, Walsh Brothers is also involved with the luxury residential project at 25 Atlantic Avenue in Boston.

To keep pace with the firm’s growth, Walsh Brothers hired 35 new employees in 2016, representing a 13% increase in staff. While most of these new hires are within Construction Operations, new positions have been added throughout the company.

Walsh Brothers was also recognized this year by the Boston business community for its on-going commitment to build a diverse workforce. In 2016, Richard Walsh of Walsh Brothers was interviewed by WCVB-TV for breaking records for the number of minority and women on the team that built UMass Boston’s new Integrated Science Complex. Linda Shaughnessy, EEO Compliance Officer, was featured in a Boston Globe article for her work in recruiting more women into construction trades (https://www.bostonglobe.com/magazine/2016/10/25/why-women-are-finally-starting-get-construction-jobs-mass/Am9I0ALvwaxB5N3vY1wdZK/story.html).
