Integrated Sciences Complex Topping Off at UMass Boston

Boston -- Boston-based construction management firm, Walsh Brothers, Incorporated, alongside University of Massachusetts and Division of Capital Asset Management staff, as well as students, community leaders, and ironworkers recently celebrated the topping off of the new Integrated Sciences Complex. The “topping off” ceremony commemorates the final piece of structural steel being set in place on top of the building.

The ceremony began with a beam signing, which afforded the students, staff, faculty and guests the opportunity to autograph the beam and provide words of praise and encouragement to those who have contributed to the project. The steel I-beam was adorned with an American Flag and a sapling to symbolize growth and bring luck. Reaching this critical project milestone was cause for great celebration by the project team, who worked diligently to erect the steel.

Walsh Brothers is honored to be a part of this landmark facility designed by Goody Clancy on the University of Massachusetts Boston campus.  The links below provide additional information on this exciting event.
