Boston, MA — On October 25th a group of 15 Walsh Brothers employees volunteered to help Habitat for Humanity with the construction of a new home in the Blue Hill Avenue neighborhood of Dorchester, Massachusetts. This group assisted by hanging blue board in a home that represents the fifth and final phase of Habitat's Blue Hill Place neighborhood revitalization project. The new building contains three townhouse-style units: two 4-bedrooms and one 3-bedroom.

The site of the Blue Hill Place project has been a vacant lot since the 1960s, after the buildings there were burned down in riots following the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. Habitat was able to acquire the land with hopes that these new homes will stabilize the neighborhood and strengthen the Dorchester community.

The Walsh Brothers team enjoyed a beautiful fall day and was able to accomplish a considerable amount of work due to the construction expertise of several team members. Thank you to everyone who participated and to Habitat for Humanity for hosting our team.
