New Science Center at Westfield State University Breaks Ground

Walsh Brothers along with state, local and community representatives celebrated the groundbreaking for the new Science Center on the Westfield State University campus on September 18th, 2014. The new 54,000 square-foot Science Center, designed by Cambridge Seven Associates, Inc., is slated to be completed by August 2016. The new Science Center project, the first all academic building to be constructed on the campus in 40 years, will create state-of-the-art instructional and research laboratory space for all science programs and will include simulation laboratories for the Allied Health Science and Nursing programs. In addition, the new Science Center allows for Wilson Hall, which currently houses the existing instructional laboratories, to be renovated and reconfigured to house faculty and classroom space. Walsh Brothers welcomes this opportunity to continue building on the Westfield State University campus after having successfully completed the University's new 410-bed University Hall dormitory building, as well as renovating 29,000 square feet of space in the Ely Wellness Center.
