BOSTON, MA, April 14, 2017 – Earlier this month Walsh Brothers Senior Project Manager Marc Fishman, alongside Ahin Handa, Senior Planner, Massachusetts General Hospital, Susan Blomquist, Senior Associate, and Parke MacDowell, Architect, Payette Associates, Inc. presented at the fourth annual MED|Ed Facilities Boston Conference. The discussion explored how utilizing modern tools and processes allowed a renovation project to occur within the Massachusetts General Hospital without disrupting the operations of the department.
Executing a process more commonly used on larger new construction projects, the project team employed 3D and digital fabrication tools, close coordination and collaboration with stakeholders, as well as a detailed construction plan to ensure that the renovation of the Radiology Recovery space within the MGH Ellison 2 was unaffected by construction.
