NEWTON, MA, September 26, 2018 – Walsh Brothers, Incorporated hosted the second annual Walsh Cup charity golf tournament at Charles River Country Club in Newton, Massachusetts. A sold-out crowd of golfers and guests enjoyed a competitive and spirited golf tournament followed by a charity raffle and entertainment.
The Walsh Cup is designed to bring industry partners, clients and employees together to further the firm’s commitment to relationship building and collaborative teamwork. In that spirit, the Walsh Cup and all its participants collectively made a significant donation to pediatric cancer care and research.
During the dinner Dr. Howard Weinstein, past president of MassGeneral Hospital for Children (MGHfC), and Amanda Condon, a former patient of Dr. Weinstein and now an employee of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), shared remarks with the 150+ guests. Richard Walsh, President and Chief Executive Officer of Walsh Brothers then presented a check from the proceeds of the day to Dr. Weinstein and Amanda Condon.
“While I didn’t win the golf event,” said Amanda Condon, Development Officer, MGH, “it was a winning day for the doctors and patients at our Pediatric Cancer Center. By bringing the construction community together, Walsh Brothers and the Walsh Cup participants are lending important support for research and patient care in childhood cancer.”

The 2018 Walsh Cup Low Gross winner was Team Sweeney Drywall Finishes, Corp. and the Low Net winner was Team Walsh Brothers. Planning for the third annual Walsh Cup in 2019 is already under way!
