The International Village is the largest and most complex dormitory construction project undertaken in Northeastern University’s history. The site at the corner of Ruggles and Tremont streets in downtown Boston was a tight one with virtually no lay-down area for construction materials. The build-out of the project required the entire parcel on all four sides.

“Walsh Brothers was instrumental in the developing the project from its conception; it is the largest and most complex dormitory project Northeastern has ever undertaken. Walsh Brothers has been a successful partner on this complicated mixed-use project.”

The 460,000-square-foot complex serves a multitude of student services in addition to its primary residential use. They include a café and full kitchen, a five-story retail and office component that houses university administration, and a rooftop garden terrace. The residential component of 1,200 beds consists of both single- and double-occupancy rooms with shared bath facilities.
