The Kennedy Campus Center is located on MassArt’s urban campus bordering Boston’s Longwood Medical Area. The Campus Center serves as a hub for student interaction, community activity, and informal learning. The renovation of and addition to Massachusetts College of Art and Design’s Kennedy Campus Center included a two-story glass addition along Longwood Avenue – a stark departure from the institution’s historically all-brick facade. This unique addition of transparency brings new life to the institution by exposing the social core of MassArt. The facility features a 1,500 square-foot expansion of the servery and dining area, renovations to the bookstore and art gallery space, and the addition of a café and art store, all of which are shared by the consortium of Colleges of the Fenway. The second floor incorporates an office fit-out and addition that houses varied student services such as health, counseling, and development offices.  This defining new space for the college has received LEED Silver certification.
