Phillip and Susan Ragon Building at MGH

Mass General Brigham

The 1.9M SF Phillip and Susan Ragon Building, located on the Boston campus of Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), will significantly improve the hospital’s ability to provide exceptional care to the communities it serves. Currently under construction by Walsh Brothers and Turner Construction operating as a joint venture, the Ragon Building will be home to the Mass General Cancer Center and the Corrigan Minehan Heart Center.

Phase 1(4B Building) includes 17 levels above-grade and 6 levels below-grade. Phase 2 (The Parkman Building) includes 15 levels above-grade and 5 levels below-grade. A 5-story podium and two sky bridges will connect both towers. The project also includes an underground tunnel and overhead bridge, both connecting back to the main campus. The new building will feature 418 single inpatient rooms, single ICU rooms, imaging, operating and exam rooms, infusion bays, pharmacy, and laboratory spaces. The facility will be resilient to climate change impacts and almost entirely powered by renewable electricity. It will reduce carbon emissions by 90% to meet Boston’s carbon reduction goals for 2050.
